Clearwater Paddling offers wonderful sea kayak
journeys in Barra, the Outer Hebrides and beyond. Our trips are
in relatively safe, protected waters and no previous experience
is necessary: many participants have never been in a kayak before. Tours
are geared to anyone who is reasonably fit and in good health.

and autumn.
The silent mobility of sea kayaks enables us to
explore a world of remote
islands and stunning beaches and discover hidden lagoons and bays.
Powered by the rhythm of the paddle, we glide over crystal clear
waters, home for a host of sea life. Come face to face with
seals, glimpse sight of an otter as it hunts, or even paddle
alongside a basking shark. Catch sight of eagles soaring
above tranquil lagoons and come close to guillemots,
cormorants and heron. Every day will be a mix or
relaxation the kayaks and cover 7-10 miles, with
plenty of opportunities to land and explore the
islands by foot. The aim of the trip is not an
endurance test, but an opportunity to discover
beautiful places using the ideal transport. For
some it is the new activity that is appealing,
whilst for others it’s the peace
and tranquillity.
