We run tours for all levels of ability. For those new to the sport, we run many of our trips in relatively safe, protected waters. We feel that a positive attitude and spirit of adventure are far more important than being in super shape. Although sunshine and warm breezes are always preferred, the ability to laugh in the face of wind and rain is mandatory.

These tours are geared to anyone who is reasonably fit and in good health.
Every day will be a mix of relaxation and adventure. On a good day we may spend four or five hours in the kayaks and cover between 7 and 10 miles, with plenty of opportunities to land, and explore the islands by foot. The aim of the trip is not an endurance test, but an opportunity to discover beautiful places using the ideal transport. Our kayak fleets have a whole range of boats from the sleek and fast to others that are comfortable, stable and designed to remain upright.
Our aim is for you to havean enjoyable and relaxing experience: not a cold wetone. We will not be making you capsize unless you want to! At the start of the first day, before we head off, you will be given instructions on the basic paddling skills, and safety. Within minutes you will feel comfortable and confident, in control of your kayak. You will quickly discover there is nothing fancy to paddling your kayak,and over the week you will refine your skills and soon feel like a seasoned paddler. We are more than happy to take people on our Lodge and Wild Barra Camping tours who have never kayaked before. However we do strongly suggest sitting in akayak for even an hour or two just to get a feel of it before you come on one of our trips. For the more experienced kayaker we offer camping adventures to more remote locations. These trips may involve longer days out and bigger crossings, but the payback is in exploring further and paddling and camping in some incredible islands.
